RUSTICHELLA d'ABRUZZO OLIVE PASTA SAUCE,  Six 9.53 Oz (270 g) Glass Jars.  Made with black olives. Rustichella d'Abruzzo has long been our favorite Italian jarred tomato sauce. Their Olive Tomato Sauce starts with vine ripened tomatoes, sweet sautéed onions, extra virgin olive oil and a touch of Sicilian sea salt. The addition of Italian black olives lends texture and delicate brininess to the sauce.  Made in Italy.

These smaller jars of sauce from Rustichella d'Abruzzo contain the perfect amount of sauce needed to dress a 500 gr (1.1 lb)  package of pasta as the Italians do: Italians like to eat pasta with sauce, not sauce with pasta! the sauce will adhere to quality pasta beautifully and will be enough to serve 4 people. You can either heat the sauce or toss in the pasta bowl with the pasta directly after straining it.  

The Rustichella d’Abruzzo sauces are made with high-quality ingredients. Vine tomatoes picked at perfect ripeness, as well as the finest extra virgin olive oil from Abruzzo, set these sauces into a category of their own. Is it the sautéed onions or the ripeness of the tomato that makes these sauces so sweet? Is it the amount of extra virgin olive oil and Sicilian sea-salt that make them so perfect to use on other dishes, not just pasta? These sauces are ideal to use when making a chicken or rabbit Cacciatore, or as a base for any fish stew. Either heated before serving or just mixed with the cooked pasta allows one to enjoy more freedom in the kitchen.

Ingredients: Tomato pulp, black olives, extra virgin olive oil, onion, sugar, salt. Acidity regulator: lactic acid. Antioxidant: L-ascorbic acid.
