 Just For Cheese by Can Bech.  A Sweet Sauce with Raspberries, Rose Petals and Szechuan Pepper, Case of Twelve 2.54.Oz Glass Jars.  To compliment the soft cheeses' clean, lactic aromas we looked for a sweet, fragrant sauce, with a similar texture that would accompany the flavor of the cheese without masking it.  Pairing:  Cottage Cheese, Feta, Goat Cheese, Mascarpone, Mozzarella, and Ricotta.

The combination of raspberries, that conserve their attractive ruby red color, the subtle perfume of rose petals and the personality of Szechuan pepper, added in just the right measure, results in a fine and delicate fusion.  Raspberry spread with rose petals and Szechuan pepper for pairing with fresh,soft cheeses. Product of Spain.

Select ingredients;

  • Raspberries: This fruit, macerated at low temperatures with minimal added sugar, retains a fresh fragrance and a touch of acidity.
  • Rose petals: A sensual, floral elegance that reflects the clean, silky profile of the delicate petals complements the fragrant raspberry fruit.
  • Szechuan  Pepper: From Asia, the Szechuan  pepper’s qualities were actively sought out: a spice that provides a citrus essence, a light spicy quality, and a warm roasted aroma.
Ingredients: Sugar, water, lemon juice, raspberry 2.4%, gelling agent: pectins, petals 0.6%, Szechuan  pepper 0.05%, and natural rose flavoring. May contain traces of almonds, pistachios, macadamia nuts, and other tree nuts. 

Since 1981, Can Bech has been making jams in Costa Brava, Spain, following traditional methods and recipes accumulated over the years in the kitchen of the old Can Bech family restaurant.
